Taste of Beauty
Welcome to Taste of Beauty, a hidden gem located in Fountain Valley, California, offering a unique dining experience like no other. As a food reviewer of Restaurant World, I had the pleasure of exploring the culinary delights of this establishment specializing in tapas/small plates, vegetarian cuisine, and Asian fusion.
One of the standout features of Taste of Beauty is its seasonal and classic 8-course tasting menus, each meticulously crafted with a blend of artistry and ethereal flavors. From the Island Pumpkin to the Forest Oyster Mushroom, every dish is a masterpiece that delights the senses and tells a story through its presentation and flavors.
Customers rave about the thoughtful storytelling behind each dish, connecting it to themes of sustainability, mindful consumption, and reducing carbon footprints. Chef Gao's creations not only please the palate but also leave a lasting impression on diners, making them appreciate the art of gastronomy on a deeper level.
The serene and spa-like ambiance of Taste of Beauty, reminiscent of the tranquility of Hangzhou, China, elevates the dining experience to a whole new level. The minimalistic decor, soft lighting, and flowing textures create a contemplative atmosphere where diners can truly savor every bite.
With options for both vegan and vegetarian tastings, Taste of Beauty caters to a diverse range of preferences while maintaining a high standard of quality and creativity. One of my best meals this year! Every dish was a well-thought-out piece of art, each with a unique theme. I loved how the servers told a story for each dish, connecting it to how we can be better consumers and reduce our carbon footprint. Most importantly, the food was delicious. My mom and I tried both tasting menus, and I couldn't pick a favorite. It was wonderful to experience both options. At $89 and $99, this experience is a steal. I would definitely come back. I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but I truly appreciate great food and storytelling. Chef Gao, also a tea master, ended the meal by making us tea, which was a perfect finish to the dinner.

I wanted to treat mt fiancé to a fancy romantic meal after he planned the perfect proposal for me. Someone recommended tgis restaurant via Instagram so I decided to take a chance and make a reservation, which was an easy online process. When we arrived, the interior was clean and there was soft music playing. We were immediately greeted and taken to our private room. We did not request a private room but I did indicate we were celebrating our engagement, so the private room was a lovely touch. The set menus are vegetarian or vegan. We picked vegetarian and each course came out swiftly and was accompanied by a story which we loved. The dishes were all very tasty and enjoyable. I would note there is a heavy use of mushrooms in the vegetarian menu, but we love mushrooms so we did not have a problem with it. They used different varieties and cooked them in different ways so it did not feel repetitive, but if you don't like mushrooms as a rule you may want to skip this place. The drinks were also lovely. The tasting menu has several courses so even though each one is just a couple of bites, we were both too full to finish the final dish. As such, we did not order a dessert. This is a great place to check out if you are into fine dining, Asian-style flavors, and vegetarian/vegan food. We highly recommend the entire experience!

Some of the dishes were tasty & despite being small portions it was filling because of various dishes. The ambiance was great and service too. Love that they have vegan & vegetarian options. We definitely needed a restaurant like this in the area.
